LANTING

Synopsis
There was a boy named Ciri-kun with balloons in his hand. While he was enjoying his time, cloud bullies were interrupting his journey to the beach by trying to get the balloons from him. 

Director Statement
Balloons is a short puppet stop-motion animation film made during my residency in Osaka, Japan. At first, there was no plan to make a film during the research, since the research was only focused on puppet building and ball-jointed steel armature making with the supervision of Prof. Kazuhiro Ueda at Osaka Electro-Communication University. But, hey, we have a month or two for the whole research before going back to Tokyo for studio visits, so why don't we make the film with the puppet from the research? Thus, born Ciri-kun along with his short film, Balloons.
