Director Statement
Humpback whale is a type of mammal capable to create sound that echoes miles away in more than 24 hours duration. Until today, even the scientists are not able to translate the true meaning behind their unique sound. It is considered as one of endangered animals since the whaling (whale hunting) became popular. in the 18th century. It was caused not only by spears but also by modern hunting technologies to sound pollution under the sea by drilling machines. Mixed with fantasy elements, this story is fueled with passion to tell the local wisdom about whaling based on the true local wisdom in Indonesia, and the good or bad side that came out of it.
